wiedemann joins us live tonight from the old jail. katie, what kind of restrictions is the county facing for the remodedesince it's a historic landmark? a few years ago the county received a federal grant to pay or renovations to the outside of this buildidi. part of that agreement meant the historic building needs to be open to the public for at least 12 hours per year. first built in 18-57, this was originally the dubuque county jail. in 19-75 the dubuque art association converted the old building into a history museum which featured dubuque county artiticts. now, supervisoror plan to use the exhibit portion of the museum as office space for two county departments. they'll convert the historic jail cell area into a county conference room. however, because it's a national historic ace, they're not allowed to change or remove the old cells. supervisors say making these changes is part of an
